HOW DOES THE CO2 FACIAL WORK?

The CO2 Facial is a minimally invasive skincare treatment that utilizes CO2 gel to create an immediate lifting effect that rejuvenates and restores skin.

During the application, the CO2 gel is applied to the skin and a rigid sheet mask is placed over the gel to trap the carbon dioxide. This creates the Bohr Effect, which is when the sudden increase in carbon dioxide triggers the release of oxygen into the tissue. This oxygen boost promotes skin healing and regeneration. WHAT TO EXPECT

Unlike other cosmetic treatments, the CO2 facial doesn’t require any preparation on the part of the individual.

During the treatment, the aesthetician will clean and dry the client’s face before applying the gel, being careful to avoid the area around the eyes. They will then apply the sheet mask onto the gel. There will be a sizzling sound as the CO2 is being released. Clients may feel a burning sensation, which means that blood is rushing to the skin.

The mask will be left on for 30 minutes, and every five to 10 minutes the aesthetician will press the mask firmly to the skin. This will re-start the process, causing more oxygen to be released.

Who shouldn't get the CO2 Facial?

The facial is not recommended for patients with the following issues on their face: cuts/abrasions, bruising/swelling, active eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, acne vulgaris, acne rosacea, skin tags, sunburn, broken capillaries/veins, or undiagnosed lumps or swelling.

Are there side effects?

It’s normal to experience a burning sensation during the facial. After treatment, patients may exhibit minimal side effects, such as slight puffiness, bruising, and discoloration.

When will I see results?

Patients will see noticeable results after a series of treatments over four to eight weeks. Maintenance treatments should be done every four to six weeks.
