What is RESTYLANE DEFYNE?
Restylane Defyne is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler designed to smooth the laugh lines, or the wrinkles and folds that form along the sides of the nose and run down towards the corners of the mouth. The filler may also be used to improve the profile, shape, and size of the chin.
Hyaluronic acid, a key ingredient in Restylane Defyne, is a sugar naturally found in the body that works to improve skin moisture, volume, and elasticity. The hyaluronic acid contained in Restylane Defyne has been modified to last longer in the body than the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid.

how is Restylane Defyne used?
Over time, skin loses elasticity and volume. In the face, this can cause the formation of laugh lines, which are the creases that run from the sides of the nose towards the corners of the mouth. Restylane Defyne is designed to temporarily minimize the appearance of these folds by smoothing them out and restoring a natural, more youthful appearance. The filler may also be used to enhance the chin region by improving the chin profile in patients with mild to moderate chin retrusion.
who is not a candidate?
Before receiving treatment, patients should speak to their specialist about the benefits and risks of the filler. The patient should also share details of their medical history to determine if they qualify for treatment with Restylane Defyne. During the initial consultation, the specialist will ask the patient if they have any allergies to determine if the filler may be safely administered without the risk of allergic reaction. Patients should tell their specialist if they have severe allergies with a history of severe reactions (anaphylaxis) or are allergic to the anesthetic lidocaine or to any of the proteins used to make the hyaluronic acid in Restylane® Defyne (bacterial proteins).
are there any risks?
The filler is very safe with few serious side effects. After treatment with Restylane Defyne, patients may experience mild swelling, redness, bruising, itching, tenderness, pain, and lumps and bumps formation. These side effects should resolve within one to two weeks.
